Are you gearing up for the Grand National this weekend? Today sees the girls descend on the legendary Aintree Racecourse for Ladies Day.

There’s 40,000 people expected to be at the Grand National’s Ladies Day today. That’s the same amount of people who are diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in the UK each year – with over 22,000 of those being men.

So as April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we’re taking a closer look at this Cancer. Most common in older age groups, common symptoms of Bowel Cancer can include:

  • Constipation or diarrhoea that lasts for more than three weeks
  • Blood in your poo (making it darker)
  • A lump in your stomach
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Feeling bloated
  • Vomiting

If you have any of these symptoms it doesn’t mean that you have Cancer, but you should get it checked out by your doctor to be safe.
